4 Grad, Nieselregen und Wind sind nicht wirklich beste Voraussetzungen für einen schönen Wandertag. Glücklicherweise hat sich später wenigstens der Regen aus diesem Trio verabschiedet.

Tenā koe Frank. I note (from the weather forecast) that snow is visiting the South Island quite extensively. Likewise up here, it is doing similar. The cold snap passing over us is leaving us feeling very wintery. So, stating the obvious – it’s colder.
I note you have a little on 200km+ to go. That total seems miniscule to what you have achieved so far. Big time! You have done exceptionally well.
With the colder weather becoming more increasingly your friend, it’s easier to see and feel less comfortable. KEEP GOING! In the greater scheme of things, you only have days to go. Less than 2 weeks! Be careful, about doing less distances because it inevitably means you will end up taking longer to achieve your end goal, thereby exposing you to more time and days in the ever increasing colder weather. Now is the time to dig deep. Remind yourself why you chose to do Te Araroa in the first place. What motivated you to GO AND DO IT!
Find the joy in each day. There will be joy! Hopefully you are with company to help share your story. Keep your focus. Push on!
So wonderfully proud of you 👏
